Feel any pity for a banker…even one innocently falling prey to his worst nightmare? Family man and regular banker, Paul Somers generally takes life as he finds it, until one day his world changes forever at the hands of notorious gangsters Jack and Guido Cinelli. Opportunists at heart, the Cinellis threaten their newfound victim into doing something he will forever regret. However, when their sinister plan is unexpectedly thrown into disarray, the Cinellis issue him with a chilling ultimatum demanding his ‘support’ for Plan B. With marriage and career on the line, the wilting banker is dragged deeper into Dublin’s murky underworld to a place that is far beyond the reach of the law. Suffocated by stark choices haunting his every waking hour, his weaknesses are exposed in ways he never thought possible. However, he’s not the only one feeling the pressure - the sibling gangsters’ love-hate relationship plays into the hands of a ruthless boss, hell-bent on punishing them for a priceless drugs bust. With time running out and innocent lives at stake, Plan B has got to succeed. The dramatic finale is a fitting redemption of good over evil. Readers will be left divided between sympathy and scorn for Paul Somers, but none would ever wish to take his place. This story will draw you into the mind of one sorry banker, wrestling 24/7 with moral dilemma that drives him past the point of no return. Bankruptured delivers blackmail, kidnapping and murder in a fast-paced novel sprinkled with black humor and unique insights into the world of banking.

Bankruptured Randolph O'Toole Books

The life of ordinary banker Paul Somers is changed forever, the day he went to work and encountered by accident, Jack Cinelli - a gangster from Dublin's Underworld. The banker soon faces a predicament that has an ongoing and agonising effect on him and his family. This book challenges its main character with a life-changing moral decision - to do the right thing as a banker, whilst making difficult judgement calls just to stay alive. He is under extreme pressure from brothers Jack and Guido Cinelli to make the ultimate sacrifice while at the same time, the two brothers are being pursued by a gangland Boss who shows no mercy - for anyone.

The book moves at a fast pace and has great touches of humour that compliment an otherwise disturbing story. I was laughing out loud at some of the situations you can see unfold in front of your very eyes, as Randolph O'Toole has a terrific style in vividly describing scenes.

Glued to my Kindle on a recent long-haul flight, I ended up feeling like I had been taken thru a tour of Dublin on the way - being a keen golfer, St.Annes Golf Club (if it's real?) sounds awesome...without the shanks, please.
All in all - I really enjoyed this book and will keep an eye out for any others this author writes. Highly Recommended.

Bankruptured Randolph O'Toole Books Reviews

Well written, great story, gives a good insight into a banker's private and professional life. Couldn't put down until I had finished reading.
Great read. I'm not a big reader and it takes a lot to get me to sit down and devote myself to a book. Once you start this book, it will be hard to put down.
For a first time author I was pleasantly surprised with this book.It was easy to read, fast paced and left me eagerly awaiting the follow up. Congratulations Mr O'Toole. You have yourself a fan........
Enjoyed this pacy new book, a great read for all. Randolph O'Toole gets it just right with his story revealing the inner workings of a bank. Hard not to feel sorry for the main character even if he is a banker. Highly recommend it.
This is a really good story.
Bankrobbers, sex, money what more could you ask for...??

Would recommend it to anyone interested in modern Dublin
Looking forward to the next one...
Randy O'Toole depicts a banker's decent into hell in a graphic and suspensefull manner that makes this book utterly compelling reading.

Bankruptured is a timely tale of the collapse in the fabric of society seen through the eyes of Banker Paul who starts a normal day of his normal life, heads off to work and BANG...

Just when you think it can't get any worse for our hero O'Toole tears another page from his life.

Get the book, enjoy the trip!
This book was recommended to me by a work colleague and I'm so glad that I took their advice to read it! I haven't enjoyed a book as much in a long time. It started off relatively normal - a husband, wife and child having breakfast together before starting their day and then bam life as Paul Somers (main character) knows it, changes. And I was hooked!

It's a page turner and had me gripped until the end which came far too quickly!!!

A great read that you should buy - it'll keep you on the edge of your seat and you won't be disappointed!!
