Well written, this book takes the reader on a journey across galaxies and to the conquered Earth while the long-lived characters explore, invent, and create relationships along the route.The peek into a possible future for humans takes place after a time of Chaos on Earth and the subjugation of practically all life on Terra.
There is revolution against the oppressors, apocalyptic events, and intelligent non-human lifeforms. Great Science Fiction!
Overall, I really liked this book. The criticism I offer is only that the story takes place over such a large distance and over a long period of time that the tale seems less cohesive, less tightly woven than I would like.
I am looking forward to reading more from Mr. Moore. I have enjoyed other books from this author, and I plan on following his work.
